Portishead produced Dummy themselves in Bristol studios

Recorded at State of Art and Coach House Studios in Bristol between 1993 and 1994, Barrow and Utley produced the album themselves. They combined hip-hop breakbeats, film soundtrack samples, and Beth Gibbons’ haunting vocals into something that sounded unlike anything else at the time.
