The Avalanches built Since I Left You from an estimated 3,500 samples — one of the most sample-dense albums ever released.

The album was assembled from roughly 3,500 samples using Akai S2000 samplers and a G3 Mac over several years in the group’s home studios. What’s remarkable is that they cleared nearly all of them — a legal feat that seems almost impossible by today’s sample clearance standards.
