Grizzly Bear abandoned their first attempt at recording Shields

The band first recorded in Marfa, Texas in June 2011 but largely abandoned those sessions. They started fresh in early 2012 at Ed Droste’s mother’s home in Cape Cod, where they had previously recorded Yellow House.
