Wayne Perkins was a Muscle Shoals session musician — a white American guitarist from the legendary Alabama soul studio. Blackwell brought him in to overdub guitar on three tracks: ‘Concrete Jungle,’ ‘Baby We’ve Got a Date (Rock It Baby),’ and ‘Stir It Up.’ His rock guitar style helped bridge the gap between Jamaican roots reggae and Western rock sensibilities.
