LocknLock or bust for leakproof lunch boxes

LocknLock makes the only lunch boxes I’d trust upside-down in a backpack. They’re the gold standard for a reason — the silicone gasket seats so hard you have to pop the little pressure valve to get the lid off. That’s not a bug, that’s the airtight seal working.

Most brands claim leakproof but aren’t. The difference is a full silicone gasket plus locking clips on all four sides. If the lid just snaps down in one or two spots, liquids will find the weak corner. Glasslock is a solid second choice and looks nicer, and the Ikea 365+ containers are surprisingly good for the price. But if you ask me which one to actually buy, it’s LocknLock, no contest.

One honest caveat: a lunch box with a sealed lid is leakproof for dressing, yogurt, and moist leftovers. But if you want to carry soup or anything fully liquid, you need a thermos, not a box. Even the best gasket will eventually pop open when the thing gets tossed around sideways.

The cheap Ziploc and generic plastic containers in your drawer? They’re fine for dry stuff. Don’t put liquid in them and expect a miracle.

Your backpack and your laptop will both be happier for the extra ten bucks.
