Look but don't feed the wildlife.
Yes, you’ll see plenty of birds, fish, and turtles from the islands — but feeding them is a bad idea, and usually illegal.
Islands are great for seabirds like pelicans, gulls, and terns. Keep an eye on the water and you’ll spot rays, maybe a sea turtle surfacing, and if you’re lucky, dolphins cruising by. No guarantees, but the variety is solid.
Feeding restrictions exist for good reason. Handouts make wildlife dependent on humans, mess with their natural diets, and can make them aggressive. Some species get sick on bread or processed food. In most protected island areas, it’s against the law to feed any wildlife — fines apply.
Even if it’s technically allowed somewhere, don’t. The novelty of a bird eating out of your hand isn’t worth the harm.
Bring binoculars, not snacks.
