MacBook Air USB-C works with almost any monitor.

Yes, as long as yours has a USB-C port.

Every MacBook Air since 2018 has Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C ports that support DisplayPort alternate mode. That means any monitor that takes a direct USB-C connection, or has a DisplayPort input, will work with the right cable or adapter. If your monitor only has HDMI, a simple USB-C to HDMI adapter does the job.

One caveat: this applies to MacBook Airs from 2018 onward. The older wedge-shaped models with MagSafe and USB-A don’t have USB-C at all, so you’d need a different approach.

Also, while the built-in display is 60Hz, external displays over USB-C are also limited to 60Hz on most MacBook Airs (the M2 and M3 models can drive one external display at up to 6K). You won’t get ProMotion or high refresh rates, but for standard productivity and media, it’s plug-and-play.

Just buy a decent USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI cable and you’re set. No need to overthink this one.
