Magnetic charging cables won't interfere with mouse tracking.

No, it’s extremely unlikely.

Optical and laser mice track by reflecting light off the surface. They don’t rely on magnetic fields or electrical conductivity to detect movement. A magnetic charging cable—even one with a small magnet in the connector—produces a weak, localized magnetic field that’s not strong enough to mess with the sensor.

Conductive fibers in the mousepad also don’t matter. The sensor is reading surface texture, not electrical resistance. Some gaming mousepads with conductive threads exist for RGB lighting, but they won’t confuse the mouse unless the charging cable is somehow shorting the sensor circuit—which it can’t, because the cable only carries power.

The only real risk is if you’re using a very old ball mouse with magnetic rollers, but those are museum pieces at this point. So relax, plug in, and keep scrolling.
