Mesh safety covers are the safest for kids and pets.
Mesh safety covers that meet ASTM F1346 standards. They drain water instead of pooling it, so a child or pet that falls onto the cover won’t be trapped under a giant puddle. Solid covers can hold enough water to drown a small animal—or a toddler.
The mesh itself is strong enough to hold a person, and the anchors are the weak point if installed wrong. So make sure it’s professionally installed with proper brass anchors in concrete. Don’t DIY the anchor system.
Cheap solar covers or thin vinyl covers are not safety covers. They tear, they pool water, and they give false security. Spend the money on a real mesh cover with straps and springs.
Don’t cheap out on the anchor system.
