More RAM probably won't fix the stutters.

Not directly, no. Your Vega 56’s 8GB VRAM is the more likely culprit in Battlefield 2042 — that game eats video memory, and when it runs out, you get micro-stutters. 7.5GB of system RAM usage isn’t alarming for 16GB; Windows and the game together can hit that easily without causing stuttering.

The Ryzen 5 3600 is also fine for this game, but the Vega 56 is getting long in the tooth for a demanding, poorly-optimized title like 2042. Lower texture quality and see if the stutters smooth out. If they do, you’re VRAM-capped, not RAM-capped.

Upgrading to 32GB of RAM would be a waste here. If you can swing it, a used RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT would be a bigger help.
