Morning visits: calm water, fewer boats, cooler air, and wildlife is more active. You get parking, you get solitude, you feel like you have the place to yourself. Downside: the light is flat and the wind might be down, so no dramatic crashing waves.

Sunset visits: warm golden light, dramatic clouds, and the whole place turns orange. The downside: so does everyone else. Parking is a nightmare, you’ll be sharing the viewpoint with twenty people, and the afternoon wind can make the boat ride choppy.

Neither is better. They’re just different. If you want quiet reflection, go early. If you want something to post, go late.
