Multi-floor robot vacuuming means carrying it.

No, you can’t.

No mainstream robot vacuum climbs stairs. Not the Roomba j7, not the Roborock S7, not the Dreame L10s. They can map multiple floors and remember where they are, but you still have to physically pick the thing up, carry it to the next floor, and place it on the dock.

Some high-end models (like the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra) will let you tell them which floor they’re on after you move them. That helps with the mapping, but it doesn’t eliminate the carrying. A few cheaper units can detect a drop and just avoid the stairs entirely, but none can bump down them or go up.

The bottom line: if you have two floors, you’re the elevator. Plan for a docking station on each level or be prepared to move the one dock around. Either way, your arms will get a little workout.

Small price to pay for never sweeping again.
