No Pink Floyd member played it. It was session musician Dick Parry.

You’d think with all those guys in the band, one of them would have picked up the sax. But nope – Gilmour didn’t, Wright didn’t, Waters didn’t, and Mason sure didn’t. They brought in Dick Parry, a British session saxophonist, to lay down that iconic solo on ‘Money’ (and later on ‘Us and Them’).

Parry wasn’t just some random hire either. He’d played with them before, and his sound became part of the Dark Side magic. So if you ever get quizzed on band trivia, you can say “Dick Parry” with confidence.

It’s one of those moments where the right guest player elevates a track beyond what the band could do themselves.
