Old Navy and Target are fine for plus-size beach cover-ups.
Yes. Old Navy and Target both carry solid, affordable options that don’t require a separate mortgage.
The trick with beach cover-ups is you’re going to get sand, sunscreen, and salt water on them. You don’t need a $90 piece of see-through rayon from a specialty brand. Old Navy’s plus section has kaftans and tunics that look fine, and Target’s Ava & Viv line has actual dresses that work as cover-ups if you want to walk to lunch after.
If you want something a little more polished, Universal Standard makes excellent stuff that fits well and doesn’t treat plus size like an afterthought. But it costs more.
Skip the made-for-Instagram brands that charge $70 for a linen sack. You’re at the beach, not a fashion shoot.
