One bin, one hook, done

The key to keeping pet supplies under control in a small apartment is to give them two permanent homes and nothing more. A hook or small basket by the door for leashes, poop bags, and harnesses. One drawer or bin in a closet or under a table for food bags, toys, and grooming tools. That’s it.

You don’t need a dedicated pet “station” or a custom cabinet. Most pet parents accumulate too much because they see a cute toy or treat and think “it’s small, I’ll just shove it in the corner.” Then you have a pile by the coat rack, a half-eaten bag of kibble under the sink, and three identical tennis balls that your dog ignores.

Pick your spots and enforce a limit. The bin should be small enough that you can’t overfill it. Once it’s full, some toys have to leave (donate or toss). Same with treats—don’t stock up beyond what fits in the bin. You’ll use what you have before buying more.

For daily use, the hook/basket by the door is all you need to grab and go. Keep a spare leash and a roll of bags there
