Override the false negative. Then move on.
Override the false negative in your habit tracker by manually entering the completion, then immediately reset your focus to the next action. Done.
Spending time debugging why the app missed it or getting annoyed at the broken streak is a momentum killer. You did the thing. That’s what counts. The app is a tool, not a judge. Your actual behavior is the only truth.
Most habit trackers let you backdate a log or tap a quick “add” button. Use that. If yours doesn’t, just mark it for today and ignore the visual gap. A single off day in the grid doesn’t undo the habit. What will undo it is letting a glitch spiral into frustration or an excuse to skip tomorrow.
Momentum lives in your head and your actions, not in a streak counter. Fix the data silently and get on with your life.
The only streak that matters is the one you keep in real life.
