Pack the Wet Stuff on the Side

The only reliable way to keep a wrap from going soggy is to pack the wet ingredients separately and assemble at lunchtime.

Even a perfectly rolled wrap starts leaking by noon. Lettuce, tomato, and sauce release moisture, and that soggy line forms right where the moisture hits the tortilla. You can slow it down, but you can’t stop it.

If you’re stubborn about pre-assembling, at least paint a fat spread—cream cheese, hummus, peanut butter—directly onto the tortilla as a barrier. Dry your vegetables well, and wrap in parchment instead of plastic so condensation doesn’t collect. That helps. It’s just not the same as a fresh roll.

Just take a small container with the fillings and a separate tortilla. Rolling a wrap takes thirty seconds. You get a crisp texture and no floppy mess.

Your lunch is already sad enough—don’t let it be soggy too.
