Paddleball and frisbee are the right answer.
Yes. Stick with paddleball and frisbee. They pack flat, work in soft sand, and don’t need setup.
Paddleball is great because the ball doesn’t roll away in the sand, and paddles are light. Frisbees float if they end up in the water, and they’re easy to toss with minimal space. Both survive salt and sand better than a football or cornhole.
Avoid anything that needs a flat surface (badminton net, bocce ball) or a hard bounce (volleyball — unless you don’t mind digging holes for poles). Spikeball is popular but the net can sag in soft sand. Kites work if there’s wind, but they’re fiddlier to pack.
For variety, bring a whiffle ball and small plastic bat — lighter than wood, works in loose sand. That’s about it. You don’t need more than two games.
The beach is for swimming and napping anyway.
