Passive bags won't make it to noon. Go electric.
An electric heated lunch box is the only thing that’ll actually be hot at noon.
Here’s the deal: plain insulated bags and “thermal” lunch boxes are just insulation. They slow down cooling, they don’t add heat. If you pack lunch at 7am, anything warmer than lukewarm will be room temp by 11. That’s physics, not a brand problem.
Your best real-world options are electric boxes like the HotLogic Mini or a plug-in bento-style heater. They’re basically mini slow cookers you plug in at your desk and they hold food around 150°F until you eat. You need an outlet (or a car adapter on your commute), but you don’t need to reheat or wait in the office microwave line.
If you truly can’t plug in, your only honest move is a wide-mouth vacuum-insulated food jar — Zojirushi and Stanley make great ones. I know you said “no thermos,” but a wide-mouth jar is basically a bowl with a lid. Heat it with boiling water first, pack your food boiling hot, and it’ll genuinely stay hot until noon.
Get the electric one. Hot lunch beats “aggressively lukewarm” every time.
