Pick the reversible suit with two sides you actually love.

Yes, they’re worth it for packing light and getting two looks from one piece. But “best” is whichever one has both colors or patterns you’d happily wear on their own. If one side is meh, you’ve just bought a regular swimsuit with extra seams.

The utility comes from contrast. A solid black/navy reversible is basically just one suit with extra complexity. A black on one side, bright print on the other? That’s the sweet spot — you can go conservative at the pool party and loud at the beach.

Construction matters more than brand. Look for nice thick fabric that doesn’t show panty lines and seams that lie flat. Reversible suits often have exposed edges, so consider how they’ll hold up. Chlorine and sunscreen will fade both sides.

Don’t pay extra for a fancy name. Lands’ End, Athleta, and even Target sell perfectly good reversible suits. The trick is trying them on. If it doesn’t feel secure and comfortable in both orientations, it’s not worth your money.
