Porosity is not a concern for glass mousepads.
It isn’t. Glass is non-porous by design, so dust sits on the surface rather than embedding itself. That makes cleaning straightforward—microfiber cloth, maybe a spritz of water, and it’s done. No scrubbing, no residue.
Scratches come from grit, not the cloth. Dust particles can act like sandpaper if you wipe them around dry. The fix is simple: use a clean, damp microfiber cloth first to lift the dust, then dry. Avoid paper towels or anything abrasive.
If you’re looking at a matte or etched glass pad, that texture can trap dust a little more—think frosted vs. clear. But even then, you’re not scrubbing. A soft cloth and mild cleaner (water or glass cleaner) won’t scratch. Just don’t use anything gritty.
Glass mousepads are about the easiest surface to keep clean. Porosity is a non-issue.
