Pour liquid chlorine slowly into the deep end with the pump running.
Yes. Walk it to the deep end, pour it in a steady stream near a return jet (if you have one) while the pump is on, and don’t splash it on the liner or your clothes.
The reason is simple: liquid chlorine is harsh. Pour it too fast or in one spot and you risk bleaching the pool liner, staining concrete, or creating fumes that’ll make you cough. The pump keeps the water circulating so the chlorine mixes evenly instead of settling at the bottom or burning a hole in your steps.
Don’t pour it near the skimmer. That concentrates it against the equipment and can eat through gaskets. And don’t pour it when the pump is off — that’s how you get a chlorine cloud or a bleached patch of liner.
Just take your time. Future You doesn’t want to explain the white spot on the floor.
