Prospect Point gives the view; Terrapin Point gives the roar.
They’re different experiences. Not better or worse—just different.
Prospect Point Observation Tower is a 280-foot elevator ride up to a deck that overlooks the American Falls and the whole gorge. You get the postcard shot—the falls from above, the river, the bridge, the green. It’s clean, dry, and great for photos.
Terrapin Point is at the edge of the Horseshoe Falls on the American side. You’re maybe twenty feet from the water crashing over. You get soaked. The sound is everything. It’s raw and loud and you can feel the ground shake.
So: tower for the panorama, Terrapin for the immersion. If you have time, do both. If you only have one, ask yourself whether you want to see the falls or be in them.
