Prospect Point gives you the American Falls up close; the tower gives you the whole show.
The two views are completely different experiences, and one isn’t strictly better — it depends on what you want.
Prospect Point puts you right at the edge of the American Falls. You feel the mist, hear the roar, get soaked. It’s intimate, visceral, and loud. You’re in the waterfall, not just looking at it.
The tower (Skylon or similar) gives you a bird’s-eye view of the entire Horseshoe Falls and the Niagara Gorge. You see the massive scale, the rainbow, the river bending. It’s spectacular but distant. You don’t feel the power the same way.
If you want to feel the power, go to Prospect Point. If you want the postcard panorama, take the tower. Both are worth doing, but they’re not interchangeable.
Don’t skip either, but know what you’re after.
