Put your yogurt in a jar before it goes in the bag

The easiest fix is to pack yogurt and fruit in their own small leak-proof container instead of relying on the lunch box itself.

Lunch boxes are not Tupperware. The bag might have a nice insulated liner, but that won’t stop a tipped-over yogurt cup from soaking your sandwich. The real problem is that you’re trusting the original packaging or an open divider to keep things separate. It won’t.

So get a few small containers with actual sealing lids. A mason jar works great for yogurt. A glass food storage cup with a snap lid does the job for fruit. If you’re packing berries, use a rigid container so they don’t get squashed. For sliced apples or grapes, any airtight tub is fine.

If you want extra insurance, toss in a folded paper towel under the container to catch condensation. But honestly, the sealed container is the whole fix. You can still use whatever lunch box you like, knowing the liquids are staying where they belong.

Future you won’t have to wipe out the inside of a nasty bag.
