RAM in a Dell Optiplex 7080 SFF is easy — you just need a screwdriver.
Very easy, and you only need a small Phillips head screwdriver.
The 7080 SFF has a tool-less cover, but you still need to turn the thumb screw with a screwdriver (or your fingers, if you’re strong enough). Once the lid is off, the RAM slots are right there, clearly labeled. Push the new stick in at an angle, then press down until the clips click. No extra force required.
No special tools. No thermal paste. No need to mess with anything else. Just make sure you buy DDR4 SODIMMs (laptop-style RAM) – the SFF uses notebook memory, not desktop sticks. Double-check the speed (3200MHz is standard).
This is probably the cheapest and most noticeable upgrade you can do to that machine. Future You deserves the extra 16GB.
