The Synology DS1621+ keeps its NVMe slots on cache duty

The DS1621+ has two M.2 NVMe slots for read/write caching, but Synology’s software locks them to cache duty — you can’t use them as primary storage volumes. It’s a capable caching setup, just don’t expect to expand your storage pool with NVMe.
