Replaceable RAM doesn't automatically improve multitasking.
Not directly. The ability to replace or upgrade RAM only helps if you actually install more RAM.
Soldered RAM is fixed—what you buy is what you get. Replaceable RAM (SO-DIMM slots) means you can swap it out later for higher capacity. But having slots doesn’t make your current multitasking faster. You need to fill them with more memory.
If you’re comparing two laptops—one with 8GB soldered and one with 8GB replaceable—they multitask identically. The replaceable one just has a future upgrade path.
So the real question is: “Will I ever want more than 8GB?” If yes, get the replaceable RAM model (or buy a model with more RAM preinstalled). If not, soldered is fine.
Don’t confuse upgradability with performance. The upgrade is what helps.
