Reset the vacuum's Wi-Fi, not the router.
Yes, you’ll need to re-pair it. Changing the router breaks the connection, and most robot vacuums don’t automatically pick up the new network.
Start by putting the vacuum in pairing mode. The exact way varies by brand, but it’s usually holding the power or home button for 3-5 seconds until the Wi-Fi light blinks. Check your app or manual for the specific combo if that doesn’t work. Then go into the app, remove the old device (if it still shows up), and add it fresh like it’s brand new. It should find the vacuum in pairing mode.
One gotcha: many cheap robot vacuums only work on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. If your new router mixes 2.4 and 5GHz under the same SSID, it might cause issues. Temporarily disable the 5GHz band in your router settings, or create a guest network on 2.4GHz only. Reconnect the vacuum, then you can turn 5GHz back on.
If it still won’t connect, reboot the vacuum (power cycle) and your phone, then try again. But 9 times out of 10, the fix is just forcing a re-pair.
Your vacuum is not being stubborn — it just forgot your password.
