Reusable containers beat wraps every time
Reusable containers and silicone bags will replace almost every plastic baggy in your lunch routine.
Anything wet or saucy goes in a hard plastic, glass, or steel container with a sealing lid. Dry stuff like crackers, granola, or a sandwich can go in a cloth snack bag or a beeswax wrap. For a sandwich specifically, beeswax wrap works if you fold it right, but a square container keeps the bread from getting squished.
If you have a bento-style box, you already have the answer: no wrapping needed. Just put the food in the compartments. The whole point of a lunchbox is that it contains the food. You’re allowed to not wrap things.
Silicone bags are great for grapes, sliced cucumbers, or cheese sticks. They’re washable, reusable, and take a beating. Just make sure they’re actually dry before you store them, or you’ll get that weird slimy film thing going on.
Your lunchbox is basically a reusable container already—use it like one.
