RGB mousepad lighting won't mess with your sensor.

No. The LEDs in mousepads generate negligible heat — we’re talking milliwatts. Your mouse sensor cares about surface texture and cleanliness, not a couple degrees of ambient warmth.

The bigger concern in enclosed setups is airflow for your computer, not the mousepad. Even if the pad gets slightly warm (it won’t), optical and laser sensors are designed to work across a wide temperature range. They’re more likely to fail from dust or a bad cable than from LED-induced heat.

I’ve never seen sensor drift from a glowing mousepad. And I’ve tested cheap ones that probably violate several electrical codes.

Focus on getting a hard, smooth surface if you want consistent tracking. The RGB is just for show.
