Rinse it immediately and dry it inside out.
Rinse it with fresh water as soon as you’re done. Salt and sand are what cause the smell and break down the neoprene over time.
Don’t leave it balled up in your car or bag. That’s how you get that sour, musty odor that never really goes away. Hang it in the shade — sunlight degrades rubber — and turn it inside out so the inner lining dries fully. Use a wide hanger (like a wetsuit hanger) to keep the shoulders from stretching.
Your wetsuit will stink less and last way longer.
