Rolling Stones' record for most consecutive decades with a top 10 Billboard 200 album

The Rolling Stones are the only act in history to have a top 10 album on the Billboard 200 in seven consecutive decades — the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and most recently the 2020s. The 2023 release Hackney Diamonds sealed the streak by debuting at No. 8, making it their 38th top 10 album.

No other artist has managed a top 10 Billboard 200 album in every decade since the 1960s. The Beatles, for comparison, only hit the 1960s and 1970s (their last original top 10 was Let It Be in 1970). The Stones keep rolling because they’ve periodically released new studio albums that land — A Bigger Bang (2005), Blue & Lonesome (2016), and Hackney Diamonds — and because their catalog sales and reissues occasionally push older records back into the top 10 during the 2010s (e.g., GRRR! compilation).

The most recent decade in the streak is the 2020s, thanks to Hackney Diamonds. Unless the band stops entirely, they’ll likely extend it into the 2030s — they’ve already hinted at another album.
