Ronnie Wood's Marriages: Krissy Findlay and Jo Wood, with Jo's Role in His Sobriety
Ronnie Wood’s first marriage was to model Krissy Findlay in 1971. They had a son together, Jesse, but the marriage disintegrated by 1978 as Wood’s drinking and partying escalated. Krissy later said Ronnie’s lifestyle made family life impossible, and she eventually remarried.
In 1985, Wood married Jo Karslake, a former model who became his anchor. As Ronnie’s alcoholism worsened through the ’80s and ’90s—culminating in a 2001 seizure and a stint in rehab—Jo became his primary support. She oversaw his daily attempts to stay sober by managing his schedule, hiding alcohol, and later arranging interventions. Her memoir, Hey Jo, details the cycle of relapse and recovery; she finally left him in 2008 after he had an affair, divorcing in 2011. Jo often said keeping him alive and touring was a full-time job, and his sobriety lasted only as long as she could enforce it.
