Rotomolded coolers are the only coolers for a truck bed.

Yes, you need a rotomolded cooler. The cheaper injection-molded ones will crack under heavy loads and turn chalky white in the sun within a year.

Rotomolded coolers (Yeti, RTIC, Pelican, Canyon, etc.) are built like tanks. They handle UV rays just fine and can take a 200-pound person sitting on them without breaking. You can throw firewood on top, slide them around in a dusty bed, and leave them out all summer.

Which brand? Yeti is the standard but overpriced. RTIC is basically the same thing for less. Pelican makes a great cooler with a superior latch design. I’d pick RTIC and spend the savings on ice.

Your truck bed is not the place to save money on a cooler.
