Rubbermaid Brilliance is the meal-prep lunch box winner

For stacking a whole week’s worth of prepped lunches in the fridge, the Rubbermaid Brilliance large divided container is the best option I’ve found.

It hits all your requirements. The 3.2-cup divided version fits a real portion of protein, carbs, and veg without turning into a giant catering tray. Flat lids and straight sides mean five of them stack on a single fridge shelf without wobbling, and the latch lids are actually leak-proof — so no sauce escaping into the produce drawer. They’re microwave and dishwasher safe, and the plastic doesn’t stain or hold smells after a week of chili.

The main alternative is glass, like the Pyrex Simply Store 3-compartment. It reheats beautifully and won’t ever warp, but it’s heavy and takes up more room. If you’re carrying a lunch bag every day, plastic is the more practical call.

Cheap Amazon meal prep containers work in a pinch, but they crack, warp, and don’t stack nearly as cleanly. Pay the extra few bucks per container — it’s worth it for something you’ll use ten times a week.

Future you on Thursday will thank you.
