Rubbermaid LunchBlox is the salad lunch box to beat
The Rubbermaid LunchBlox salad kit is the best lunch box for packing a salad with dressing on the side. It’s cheap, it works, and the dressing stays put until you’re ready to pour it.
The trick is the little round dressing pot that clips into the lid. It seals tight enough to survive being tossed in a bag, and the ice pack that comes with the kit doubles as the base, so your greens stay cold and crisp. No soggy lettuce, no dressing pooling in the bottom of the container.
If you want something fancier, the Bentgo salad container is nicer-looking and has a bigger dressing cup, but it costs three times as much. The mason jar method also works — dressing at the bottom, greens on top — but that’s a different system and you have to shake it at lunch.
For most people, the LunchBlox is the answer. It’s around $12, it’s everywhere, and it does exactly one job well.
Future you will thank past you when lunch isn’t a sad pile of wet leaves.
