Ruching, ruffles, and triangle tops
Yes, and you’ve got more options than just padded push-ups. The trick is adding visual volume without fake padding that shifts around.
Triangle tops with ties are great because you can adjust the tension. Loose ties create a little drape that adds shape. Ruffles or ruching across the bust line break up the flat plane and create an illusion of more curve. Patterns — especially horizontal stripes or busy florals — also help.
What to skip: Minimizing styles, high-neck halter tops, and anything with a straight bandeau top (unless you add a ruffle trim). Those tend to flatten or draw attention to what isn’t there.
You don’t need underwire or extreme push-up padding. Light foam cups built into the lining work fine if you want shape, but a well-fitted triangle or a ruffled top usually looks more natural and stays put in the water.
Embrace the small bust — you’ll actually have an easier time finding swimwear that stays in place and doesn’t require structural engineering.
