Ryzen 2600 won't reliably run 3600MHz RAM.
Probably not. The memory controller on Ryzen 2000 series chips (including the 2600) typically tops out around 3200-3400 MHz, even on good boards. I’d expect crashes or instability trying to hold 3600 MHz.
It’s not the motherboard’s fault—B450 boards can handle 3600 MHz just fine with a newer CPU. The Ryzen 2600’s integrated memory controller just wasn’t designed for speeds that high. Some lucky chips might hit 3466 MHz with tweaking, but 3600 is a stretch.
If you already own the kit, try it. Worst case you downclock it to 3200 MHz and tighten timings—still good performance. If you’re buying new, save the money and grab a 3200 MHz CL16 kit instead. The speed difference is negligible in real use, and you avoid the headache.
Don’t pay extra for speed your CPU can’t use.
