Selfie sticks are banned. The camera is fine.
Most venues — theme parks, museums, stadiums, concerts — ban selfie sticks for safety and annoyance reasons. A waterproof camera or GoPro in your hand or on a wrist mount? No problem. The second you attach it to a pole that extends, you’re getting flagged.
The rule is usually about the stick, not the camera. Security sees a selfie stick as a potential weapon or a thing that blocks views and bumps people. Your bare GoPro is just a camera.
If you’re heading to a water park or beach, check the specific policy. Some pools and waterparks ban any camera with a hard mount or tether. But for the stick question: leave it at home.
