Shoot through the railing gaps, not over the top.

Find a gap in the railing or shoot between the bars — don’t try to hold your camera above it. Over-the-top shots always catch railing reflection or your own shadow, and you look like a tourist fighting the fence.

For glare: bring a polarizing filter. Rotate it until the bright reflections off the mist and glass vanish. If you don’t have one, try shooting earlier or later in the day when the sun isn’t bouncing straight off the tower’s windows. A lens hood helps too.

For the railing itself: stand right at the railing, press the camera lens between two vertical bars, and shoot straight through. If the gaps are too small, get low and aim between the horizontal rails. Or use a wide angle and crop later — much better than a railing silhouette across every shot.

The best image is the one where you stop fighting the architecture.
