Silicone cups beat fancy bento dividers

Silicone muffin cups are the best lunch box accessory for separating foods without turning your bag into a container army.

They’re basically tiny flexible bowls that collapse flat when empty. Drop a few into a standard lunch box and suddenly you’ve got two or three compartments. Cup of grapes next to a sandwich, a little sauce pot tucked in the corner — nothing touches anything else.

Why silicone over plastic or paper? It holds its shape, doesn’t leak small stuff, is dishwasher safe, and doubles as a mini mold if you want to freeze yogurt or applesauce into bite-size chunks. A pack of four costs about the same as one overpriced bento gadget.

If you have one of those big rectangular boxes (like a PlanetBox), adjustable snap-in dividers are the real answer — they actually divide the space instead of just adding cups. But for a normal lunch bag with a regular container, silicone cups are the cheapest fix that works every single day.
