Skip mineral sunscreen if you have darker skin.

It’s the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. Those are the physical/mineral filters that sit on top of your skin and reflect UV rays. They work great but look white because they’re literally white particles. On darker skin tones that white cast is way more noticeable.

The easy fix: use a chemical sunscreen instead. Avobenzone, octocrylene, etc. — they absorb UV and are basically invisible. Asian and European sunscreens (like from La Roche-Posay, Beauty of Joseon, or Supergoop) are especially good at being sheer.

If you really want mineral, look for “micronized” zinc oxide or tinted versions — but even then, it’s hit or miss. I’d just go chemical and skip the ghost face.
