Skip the bento box, get stackable glass

The best “lunch box” for meal preppers is a set of rectangular glass containers with locking lids, like Snapware or Glasslock.

I know “lunch box” makes you think of something you carry. But meal prepping is about storage first, transport second. A single bento box or a cute divided container will fight you in the fridge. Rectangular glass containers are the move because they stack cleanly and don’t waste an inch of shelf space. Round bowls are the enemy here.

Glass also doesn’t hold onto last week’s curry smell, it goes from fridge to microwave without a second thought, and the locking plastic lids seal tight enough that you can throw them in a bag without leaks. Snapware’s Total Solution line is my usual recommendation because the lids are one piece—no rubber gaskets to lose or scrub. Glasslock is a close second if you want a cheaper set.

Don’t overthink sizes. Get one set with 2-cup and 3-cup rectangles. That covers a single serving of protein plus a side, or a big salad if you keep dressing separate. Use the same shape across all sizes and you can build a tower in the fridge that doesn’t fall over when you grab the milk.

Your future self will actually look forward to opening that fridge. That’s the win.
