Skip the bottle opener cooler.

Probably not worth the extra cost.

The built-in opener is convenient if you’re constantly cracking open bottled beer at tailgates. But most coolers with that feature cost more, the opener can rust or break, and you probably already own a bottle opener. Plus, if you drink cans or twist-offs, it’s just dead weight.

A decent standalone bottle opener is like five bucks and lasts forever. The money you save by not buying the gimmick version can go toward better insulation or more ice.

A good cooler is about keeping things cold, not about party tricks.
