Slow is the secret to pool vacuuming.
Move slowly. That’s it. If you push the vacuum head fast, you stir up the debris instead of sucking it in. Water moves faster around the head, kicking sediment back into suspension.
Work in overlapping passes, like mowing a lawn. Don’t skip spots. If the water gets cloudy, you’re going too fast. Back off. The filter needs time to process the water.
A quick pre-brush can help loosen stuck debris before vacuuming, but only if you give the water time to settle after brushing. Patience beats speed every time.
Your pool filter will thank you.
