Snug fit beats anything else

The best lunch box for a wrap is a rectangular container just barely big enough to hold it, so it doesn’t slide around and burst open.

The container itself isn’t magic. Wrap the burrito tightly in foil or parchment first, then put it in seam-side down. That does 80% of the work. What you need from the lunch box is two things: a snug fit and a lid that actually seals. A leakproof gasket is nice if your filling is juicy, but the real trick is eliminating empty space.

Avoid round containers entirely. They let the wrap roll and shift, which is exactly how the ends split open. A glass or plastic meal-prep container with a tight lid works fine. You don’t need a specialty “wrap keeper” — you need something that holds the burrito still so the foil can do its job.

If you’re packing burritos regularly, measure one and buy a container that matches. Slightly too tight is better than slightly too loose.

Future you deserves a burrito that doesn’t become a mess of rice and beans.
