Hard coolers look tough but they’re a pain at a festival. They’re heavy, awkward in crowds, and take up way too much space under your feet. Security usually has a size limit (often around 12x12x12 or similar), and a soft cooler is easy to check against that.

Soft coolers also chill just as well with ice packs. You’re not camping for a week — you’re keeping drinks cold for a long afternoon. Most soft coolers hold enough for two or three people and can be slung over a shoulder or shoved in a backpack.
