Soggy wraps are a barrier problem, not a freshness problem
Keep the wet stuff away from the tortilla and your wrap will survive a night in the lunch box just fine.
The key is a moisture barrier. Spread something fatty across the entire tortilla before you add anything else — cream cheese, hummus, mayo, butter, even shredded cheese. This seals the bread so nothing soaks in. A dry tortilla against wet fillings is a soggy tortilla by morning.
Also, dry your ingredients. Pat lettuce down with a paper towel until it’s bone dry. Watery stuff like tomato and cucumber are the main wrap killers — swap them for roasted peppers, carrot, or just use less. And whatever you do, don’t wrap it in plastic wrap. That traps condensation and makes everything worse. Use parchment paper or foil, and leave the ends slightly open so it can breathe. Toasting the tortilla briefly before assembling also helps.
Future you at 1pm deserves better than a floppy, wet mess.
