Soldered RAM latency is a non-issue.

For the same speed and timings, there’s no meaningful real-world latency difference between soldered and socketed RAM.

Timings (CL, tRCD, etc.) are what matter. If two sticks are rated the same, they’ll behave the same in every benchmark you’ll ever run. Soldered RAM doesn’t add extra latency because it’s soldered – in fact, the physical connection is slightly more direct, but we’re talking nanoseconds that your CPU won’t notice.

The only place you might see a difference is if the soldered RAM uses different quality chips or a different memory controller topology, but that’s a per-design thing, not a soldering thing. Manufacturers don’t deliberately downgrade soldered RAM for latency; they make trade-offs on price and availability.

Pick based on upgrade needs, not latency fears.
